Edmondson Park Public School

Project update | December 2022

Investing in our schools

The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure. The NSW Department of Education is committed to delivering new and upgraded schools for communities across NSW. The delivery of these important projects is essential to the future learning needs of our students and supports growth in the local economy.

Project overview

When Edmondson Park Public School is completed, the new primary school will accommodate approximately 1,000 students in 44 teaching and learning spaces, four support classrooms, and two preschool rooms.

Progress summary

Edmondson Park Public School will open ready for the new school year on day one term one in 2023. On this day, the western building’s administration and staff facilities and the eastern building’s teaching spaces and support classrooms will be ready for student use. The school’s canteen, library and multi-purpose hall will also be open for student use. These buildings are in their final stages of construction with internal works including ceilings, wall finishes, flooring and service installation underway. The completion of the remaining teaching spaces in the main western building, preschool, car park and landscaping works including the games courts and paving will continue into 2023. Some public domain works on Buchan Avenue and Faulkner Way including the installation of a raised pedestrian crossing and new footpaths will also continue in early 2023.

Work hours

Main works construction will take place between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday, 8 am until 1 pm on Saturdays. These work hours were recently changed to allow out-of-hours quiet works. This work will take place from 6 pm to 11 pm Monday to Friday, 1 pm to 5 pm on Saturdays and 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays. This work is not expected to be noisy and will only take place inside buildings. Power tools will not be used. An onsite manager will also be available to ensure noise is kept at a minimum for the amenity of neighbours.

Workdays

No work will take place on the public holidays on Sunday 25 December 2022 to Tuesday 27 December 2023, or Sunday 1 January 2023 to Monday 2 January 2023.
